2001 seadoo gtx

Hey guys! I am in the process of looking for a pre owned pwc. I found one for $2500. It is a 2001 seadoo gtx with the 783 engine. It is one of the best deals I have found in my area in Saskatchewan Canada so far. He said it ran great but he tried to boost it and believes he fried the main ecm board. He says he has 2 new seadoos so he doesn’t want to bother looking into this one and isn’t exactly sure what the issue is but his dealer said that is worst case scenario and could be as simple as a fuse. I’m not sure how much the ecm would cost, nor if the seadoo is “any good”. What do you guys think of this model and year? Is it fairly reliable? I’ve heard in the past they weren’t. Any info on what you guys think about the deal or these skis would be great! Thank you.
