I have a seadoo rxdi 2001 it has been sitting a good 6 months during that 6 months I lost the key . So I went to seadoo and got a new key program to it after a lot of hassle they got one to program ( well they say they did ) so I have charged the battery fully and have tried the key and all it is doing is beeping once got no 2 beeps what so ever . I put the key in and all the lights and clocks work but a little red light pops up it beeps once then goes off will not turn over or nothing. I got told it might be the sterm so I got a new one and changed that and it's still no different I have checked all the fuses to there all fine and cleaned all plugs and connectors and sprayed them up and still nothing now I dont know what to do . Any ideas of what to try now

Sounds like your mpem doesn't recognize the key...is it one long beep or just a quick chirp? There is no description in the DESS section for one quick chirp though

Does everything shut off after initial lanyard installation?
Have the battery tested.
If battery good probably the MPEM is not recognizing the lanyard.

It does about a 1/2 second beep a red light flashes then goes out but all the clocks etc stay on. When I took it to the ski repairs it was doing the same thing but he said he program the key but it's still doing the same so he said I would need a new mpem but I dont know if he did program it properly as took him hr and half . So I'm just stuck what to do next

Put a volt meter on the battery. Sounds like a bad cell in the battery.
Might check all the connections on the dess post as well.

I'm with Jesse, charge it to 12.7 V , and then do a load test on it, thus eliminating the battery from the equation.

This past spring I went to start one of my skis and it did the exact same thing as described above. Put a volt meter on the battery and discovered it was bad. (4 years old) New battery problem solved.
