I noticed this weekend that my 01 GTX would not go past 35mph. RPM was about 6000 at 35mph. It also sounded like weeds or trash was stuck in the pump intake. I took it out of the water and found that the impeller shaft was not spinning true. One blade also had a small nick.
Where should I start. I assume I will need to pull the pump off and see if any pump housing bearings are worn. And also pull the impeller shaft out as well to see if it is bent. What about the carbon seal. Could this be worn as well and cause these issues?
I am comfortable removing the jet pump. Will the impeller shaft just slip out or is there a trick in removing it?
Any advice will be appreciated
thanks
