I have a 2000 gti that runs great off the trailer for about 30 minutes then it will start missing a slow to about 10 to 15 mph at full throttle. i have replace the plugs wires coil pack and batteries. If i let it sit in the water for a little while then start it back up it will run fine for a couple of minutes then bog out again. I need some ideas where to look and what to do. thanks in advance.

There are a few things you could check but I would check with the fuel tank. It is possible your check valve is not working to vent the gas tank and after running it developes a vacuum and will not let fuel flow. When this happens open the gas cap and see if you hear pressure escaping and does it run ok? If you follow the vent line out of the tank there are two check valves. One is a one way valve and should let air flow into the tank and not out, the other is a pressure release and will let the pressure out when it reaches a few psi. Check these to see if they are working correctly first.

Another thing to check would be the screw on fuel filter and the little ones in the carbs but if it is running ok for 30 minutes these might not be the issue because it should not take that long to show problems.

where is the check valve at and how do i check it? i cleaned the carb and also replaced the gray fuel lines. do i even need the check valve?

Yes, you need the check valve. If you follow the vent line from the tank it will split into a tee and one side is the pressure releif valve and the other is the check valve. It should only let air in not out. You can use your mouth.

Also the voltage regulators have been know to cause all kinds of strange issues when going bad. LouDoo knows what wires to disconnect to check.
