2000 rx pressure regulator

i took it apart to clean and inspect. doing it the way the manual says and when unscrewing the clamp on the bellow from the bottom the whole bottom plastic piece came out from the bottom half. is this normal? also on the two rave valve's on top of the engine the hoses that come out of the rave's they have melted exspecially on the rear one. what could cause this? i have pulled them out and they are not clogged or bad.
