Hi Guys
I have looked through the forum but can't find anything relating to my problems.
History: i purchased the ski only a month ago, test road it and it was very nice. With only 60 hrs on it. Top end was a little lacking but throttle cable needing adjusting. we put 6 hrs on it over the last few of weeks but now we seem to be having problems.
Fault: 1st. not running at normal speed, after running all good flushed out and fogged couple of days later put it in the water (salt) but at WOT was missing and running weird instead of 6900 rpm was only getting 6100 to 6200 rpm Returned home full clean checked plugs, checked leads, battery connections, electrical connections and cleaned them all.
2nd. back into the water (lake) a couple of days later had adjusted the throttle cable so was now getting WOT for real, it seem to be running much better, had some fun got a bit of water in it, then while towing a tube it had a couple of little moments (misfires) took the tube off went for a quick spin (kinda hard core) came back to shore all good grabbed one of the kids went to take off and it had no power wouldn't get past about 15 knots, came back opened up the ski no water in it all looked okay, started it and revved it in neutral seemed sat down for 15mins the went back out but it was running very slow, 6knots at WOT but was going fine before, then wouldn't even idle.
Thoughts: once i got it back home it still wouldn't run (start then die) i unplugged each plug connected to the ECU then blew out what looked like clear grease plugged it back in and retested i found that lower stern plug on the ECU was to blame, once it was cleaned it would rev to full rpm 7100 woooohoooo.
New Fault: won't idle and hard to start
Thoughts: tried adjusting the idle screw all seemd okay at 1800-2000 rpm or so but when i try to get it to 1500 rpm it stays there for about 10 seconds then drops to about 920 and will eventually die.
Questions: 1. Should there be grease in the ECU plugs to keep the water out, if so what to i replace it with now that i have cleaned it all out.
2. i read on a post that the idle should be 3000 rpm out of the water and it will then be 1500 rpm once its in the water.
3. i use premium unleaded for it (95 octane) i have noticed in my book i should be sing 87 is this correct?
Notes: once i finish cleaning the ski i was told to fog it with the seadoo fogger and spray the whole engine and electrics down with a product called lanox http://www.ppc.au.com/access_lanox2d.htm could this be the problem with my electrics.
Thanks in advance, sorry for the essay hope it make it easier to understand.
