Evening all newbie from the uk after some advice.

i have just swapped my seadoo hx for a 98 xp ltd.
i bought it with the engine taken out and the jet system removed.

i am after a good guide on how to plumb the cooling sytem
and also the rave valves.

also if some one could take a picture of the drive shaft in the rear compartment so i can see where to place bearing and carbon ring.

Many thanks james

You don't place the driveshaft and bearing by looking.
The engine, intermediate shaft, bearing carrier, rear propshaft, and jet pump have to be aligned with the special tool.
There is no other way on an Xpl.
The parts manual should give you a good idea were all the plumbing should go. The two main cooling hoses run front to back so it's not an easy thing to picture. The small diameter lines should only fit one way neatly.

Drive system MUST be aligned with the alignment tool, especially on an HX or XPL.

Also, on the XPL there is not a carbon ring. You should have 2 carrier bearing set ups. One on the shock mount, and the other on the thru hull fitting for the driveshaft.

Nope the carrier bearing is the part on the rear of the seat/ shock mounting box.
There is a carbon seal, or the old bearing and double lip seal type behind that.

The 1998 XP used the old bearing seal system for the driveshaft. The 1999+ XP's and 1997 XP's used the carbon seal.

All 1997+ Xp's and HX's use the carrier bearing that is part of the seat/shock mount.
