1998 sportster 1800 easy question

Hi all. Boat is '98 sportster 1800.

1)I looked under the boat thru the intake grate and noticed that one impeller shaft is housed with a blue plastic something and the other is bare metal. What is that and is this something to worry about? I did take the boat in 2 years ago because a rope got stuck in one of the props...i don't recall if that was the side that is now bare.

2) Last year out at lake, one motor maxed out at high rpm with no thrust, engine did not sound right. Replaced spark plug and that fixed the issue (plug was brand new too). What could cause a new plug to foul?

A spark plug wont do that, sounds like you were cavitating, probably had some crap in your intake that fell out.
