Thanks to everyone for all your help since I put the new short block in my 1998 GTX Limited. It’s been running well finally.

Today I went to start it, it turned over just fine, but my dash fully lit up and reset all my data...except hours of course. So my pk speed, kilometres travelled, etc...Seadoo started up and ran fine as it always does.

We did just have a crazy downpour all night and day. The seadoo has a cover but it was wet in some areas where the cover doesn’t always keep the rain away. Perhaps something got wet in the crazy rain storm? Or maybe I’m experience electrical issues far beyond being wet. Any ideas?

No idea, doesn't seem probable you'd lose static battery power to the info gauge then get it back. These skis can do weird stuff at times, but I wouldn't consider it an issue unless it reoccurs..

When we get a ski with no info gauge etc,,,its NOT the fuse, , there is POWER to the gauges,,,,Its not the computer,,,,,its not the coupler at the vomputer. Now, I take them apart,,,(using a dremel tool carefully, to not cut an underlying wire),,ALL OF THEM have green corrosion on the circuit boards, and some will have water come out of them that has been trapped,,,of course water kills the circuit boards,,,usually its the power in tracer (red),,and the ground return tracer, (black),,which is usually near the power in tracer,,
There is a thread on here,,,that I used, where, someone, was able to resolder the boards,,,he made it look and sound so easy,,,,,and its not,,,unless you are a circuit board/computer geek,,,there are at least 2 circuit boards,,,and the board that connects to the LCD has tons of pins, We take it to a professional, he cleans the boards up, resolders the tracers, beautifully,,,but he cannot repair water in the LCD!,
If a micro proccesor is faulty,,,( they will have a hair line crack,,you must look closely,,,but he knows where to look,,,or are swollen),,,he can replace it,,,BUT he cant program it due to BRPs blockage,,,so that gauge cannot be salvaged,,,
However, if you have a broken gauge,,,with a working micro processor,,,he can use it to repair a broken gauge with the faulty micro processor,,,therefore,,,save all your gauges for reuseable parts!
Gauges as we all know,,,are so EXPENSIVE,,If you have access to a pro circuitboard repair tech,,,then it is worth the time (couple drinks in the evening on off time),,,and the chance,,,the cost around here is usually around $60.00 to clean the circuit boards of corrosion, and repair the tracers,
