1997 Speedster Erratic engine speed

Hi All

I have a 97 speedster; the port (SBT rebuild) engine and both pumps have about 4 hours on them now the starboard (Bombardier rebuild) engine has about 20 hours. Both engines start ok the starboard is idling to low and stalls the port engine today will not go full throttle it goes to about 5500 then slowly drops to idle, then it will go back to 6k for about 1 minute then drops out again. The starboard engine will not go over 5500.

When the marina put in the port engine the final got it back the tack doesn’t work until the engine hits about 4k then it works normally. I would have taken it back to make them fix it, but I drop the boat off in June of last year and they final gave me a working boat a week ago last Thursday. After they admitted to dropping a screw in the carb that locked up the RAVE, and damaged the crank they had to take it apart twice. The dealership the boat originally came from always did good work and fast, but them and bombardier parted company in 2005.

Still looking for a good shop that doesn’t over charge (extra hours above book times or over charge for parts above retail) the place that did that to me in 2005 that engine is still running reasonable well. The big issue is it really hasn’t run since the fall of 2006.

I really don’t have time to work on it, but I have to get it running right.

I just checked the fuel filters and bowls both were pristine clean. So I'm back to were I start thinking the problem was (electrical)......does anybody know where there rev limiter resides? Is it in the MPEM or some where else?:confused:
