Hi how are you? I recently bought a 1997 seadoo gti and I think it has the wrong carburetor on it. I was wondering if anyone knows what carburetor is supposed to be on it and if a 1998 seadoo gti carburetor would work on my 1997. Thanks any help would be appreciated. I also did change the gray fuel lines and clean this carburetor but it still doesn't work right. I just need to know what carburetor it is supposed to have 20220802_182952.jpg

That carb looks correct.

You need to change the fuel selector and rebuild the carb following the Carb Rebuild Thread sticky exactly and only use Genuine Mikuni parts.

I would also change the small 3/32" oil lines from the oil pump to the intake manifold.

Okay thanks. I thought that the gti was supposed to have a accelerator pump on it and thought that all of the lines should be on the one side of the carburetor. This is a picture of what I thought it was supposed to look like Screenshot_20220804-120121_eBay.jpgScreenshot_20220804-120121_eBay.jpgScreenshot_20220804-120125_eBay.jpgScreenshot_20220804-120138_eBay.jpg

1998 Carb BN40-38-24 270500328 with single carb and accelerator pump

1997 Carb BN 401-38-15 270500297 had no accelerator pump in diagram. I can’t remember if my 1997 GTI had one or not.

Your carb is correct for a 1997, just rebuild it.
The accelerator pump wasn't until 1998.

Okay thanks for that information. I don't think I have the right carb my lines go in a different way then the diagram. Would I be able to put the 1998 carburetor on my 1997?

Because the one that is currently on my I have the pulse and the return line on the side that faces the back of the jet ski and the gas feed line is on the side that faces the front of the ski

Yes, you can use the newer carb but make sure that you use all the correct jetting and settings for a 1998 GTI.

Okay thanks for your help. Is my lines going the right way with the carb that I currently have? Because like I said I have the pulse and the return line on the side that faces the back of the jet ski and the gas feed line is on the side that faces the front of the ski

If it was mine I would pull it apart and make sure the jets match what it should be and correctly rebuild it instead of installing a different carb.

Yes I put a carb that had the accel pump on my 1997 and works perfect. Just use the 1998 gti carburetor settings
