Hello All. I am a new member looking for some guidance/advice. I have a 1997 Sea Doo GTX that starts and idles perfectly (1500RPM idle in the water). If I try to go full throttle it boggs down/cuts out. If I give it a little gas before going full throttle, it takes off fine....until it hits about 20mph then it boggs down again. If I leave the throttle fully depressed it goes the cuts out, then goes, then cuts out. I cant get it to go past 23mph. The rub is, the 1st 10 minutes I had it in the water it was hitting 45mph no problem. 10 minutes later, it started bogging down/cutting out. Checked fuel lines and fuel filter and all check out. Also changed the spark plugs. I cant tell if it is starving for gas or flooding out (or possibly something else I am not thinking about). Does anyone have ideas of what would cause this?

I would rebuild the carb. Also check fuel lines. Mine did the same thing you are describing, so I rebuilt and also replaced fuel lines expecially if they are the low quality clear lines that kink or old tempo grey lines.

Thank you! I will go that route. I appreciate the advice. One other question, I'm not sure what they are or what they do, but what about the black circular objects with red centers (sorry complete novice). Are those part of the cooling system or could they also be a culprit in with this issue. Thanks again.

Those are rave valves and not related to your problem.

Don’t forget to replace the fuel selector. When this occurs did u try switching to reserve ? Many times when this happens the ski will run on the reserve setting but not the on setting.
