1997 GSI loses charge overnight, stator or rectifier or both?

I just got a 1997 GSI last fall and seemed like it was in good shape. Had a real mechanic do a once over and he plugged a leak, found water in the solenoid box and replaced. New battery and installed a bilge bump. As I began to run it on a lake I quickly found I need to keep it on a battery tender overnight to get it to fire up. If I run it the same day it is fine, but I can't leave it overnight without having to put on the tender.

Based on ruling out the battery and solenoid I am thinking it is the rectifer or stator. Do people think it would be corroded cables ends too? What cables should I check?

Do people think it is the stator and or rectifier too?

Rectifier would be "easy", stator less so try to avoid having to bring back to my mechanic and lose water time.

Any input is appreciated!

Nothing should be causing it to go dead overnight.
Very it’s actually charging when running. Should be 13-14.5 volts when reving the engine to 4,000 rpm.
