1996 SP impeller fitting thread size

I just replaced the impeller on my SP, but also broke the fitting pump 293700019 when pulling it out . I have the new part on order but want to clean out the broken piece by retapping. Does anyone know the tap size ? Maybe 3/8” or 1/2” not sure.

I usually take a drill bit slightly larger than the broken fitting...and drill out some of the plastic pvc fitting...in the pump and then I take a thin narrow flat headed screw driver and gently tap inward part of the broken sleeve, eventually I can grab the broken sleeve with narrow tweezers and twist it out counterclockwise, I'm not good on thread sizes...it's tricky tapping the pvc threads of the pump,
