I have recently purchased a 1996 Seadoo XP. The ski runs great but when I flip, it seems to pull large amounts of water into the cylinders and it will not restart while in the open water. I have pulled the plugs, got all of the water out of the cylinder and normally able to restart it. The ski will run great until submerged again then I repeat the tow to shore, pull plugs, turn engine replace plugs and start back up.

Are there any tricks or secretes to keep water from getting into the engine. I attempt to not flip but cant seem to figure that out yet. Any information would be gratefull.

Are you flipping it back over the correct way? There should be a sticker on the back of your ski by the tow hook that shows you the proper way to do so. If flipped over the wrong way you can get water in the carbs.

Yeah, I flip it Over then give it a half turn as directed on the sticker. This is my first ski and I noticed my air cleaners are visible. Would installing an air box be beneficial or is that not the problem.

Thanks for the response.
