Our 1996 twin 717 engine speedster has been driving us crazy! I think I might of found the problem. The r/s engine would not stay running if I pulled off the front or mag spark plug wire. It would run fine if I pulled off the pto or rear plug wire. This showed me that the rear cylinder was not firing properly. I went through the carbs, fuel lines etc.. I had good compression, both engines were just rebuilt. I pulled the plug out and had great spark when engine was running. But when I covered the throttle opening with my hand, or closed the choke flap it didnt make any change or pull much if any vacuum. I sprayed soapy water around the base of the plug and after starting saw a straight up spitting spray! If I sprayed carb cleaner around it the rpm changed. When I pulled the plug out and took a real close look I saw that a helicoil was installed, apparently when it was rebuilt, I guess. the plug wasnt even perfectly straight if you looked close. So I purchased a used head and new gaskets and am keeping my fingers crossed. I should have them by Thursday.
Has anybody seen this before, as Im new to Seadoo country and havnt ever come across in the past.
Let me know, thanks!

ever heard of the fords spitting number 3 and 7 plugs right out? could have happend to that at one point, install that new head and let us know........anything is always possible, anything can happen.
