Hey everybody, I got a 1996 GTI at the beginning of the summer and it ran great all summer and then I went to take it out during Memorial Day weekend and it does not beep when I put the key on the post and doesn’t even crank over or even click. Battery is fairly new I got it less than 2 months ago. I checked the fuses in the grey box they all looked good and the inside of the box looked brand new. (Previous owner said he recently replaced that). I tried sanding down the battery terminals a little but that didn’t work. During memorial weekend I was playing with one of the connectors (I will attach a picture of it) and if I got it in the right spot I could get the ski to start up and run, I took a quick spin on it, it ran fine and then I parked it real quick and went to go start it again and now It won’t turn over at all even if I play with the connector. Is it possible this is just a bad connector? I Need to get it started so I can winterize it. Thank you guys for any help in advance!

Unplug the connector and check the pins. It might need some cleaning up. Sometimes unplugging and plugging them back in helps the ski to start but you'll still have to resolve the issue. Good Luck.

I checked the pins they all seem good, cleaned up the plug a little and still nothing. Before when I would play with the plug I could get it to start but now I can’t get anything. Should I just try changing that connector?
