1996 gsx smokes

i just purchased a 1996 gsx 787 and i was told it needs internal crankshaft seals. the reason is that the engine seems to smoke excessively. runs great and idles great. it does still have the oil injection which i will remove very shortly. i do not know much about 2 strokes but are very mechanically inclined. are these seals usually a problem? thanks ahead of time for any help anyone can give.

i would try disconnecting the oiling system and premixing the oil & gas and see what it does, doing this is free and pretty easy to do

Its common for those seals to go bad.. Good luck fixing them. Your better off getting a rebuilt crank or just leaving it.
