1995 xp issue

I have a 95 xp 720. My issue is that the ski will start and run perfect as long as I do not turn it off. I ran for about 40 minutes straight yesterday(my hand was killing me). I slowed to a stop and it took off great. I then took the key off and tried to go again and it would just idle even at full throttle. This has been going on for about a week. A little background on my xp. Rebuilt engine two seasons ago, new sea doo mpem at the start of this season, changed gray lines, rebuilt carbs, cleaned filters when this started, replaced rear exhaust hose when this started. Any ideas? I love my xp and have put WAY too much into it to turn back now.

You sure you put the right parts back in the carbs? Was it an OEM kit or aftermarket? That doesnt have DESS does it?

still trouble

the oem kit. it runs great, but if the key happens to pop off while riding and i go to restart it, it restarts but will only idle and gives a bogged down sound. sometimes on my way idling back to the marina it suddenly kicks in and runs great. also when riding it if i go to slow down and idle on my own it won't re-excelerate and just idle again, this happens sometimes. no DESS. i have called around to local shops and i get different answers on what it could be, no solid answer. one said coil, one said voltage regulator, one said stator. not sure where to go from here

I had the same problem once after a complete motor rebuild. The motor had less than 20 hrs on it. the problem was a crank seal leaking. I would try starting it up on the hose and spray carb cleaner around the crank seals and base of the carbs if ur idle pics up you have a leak.

Tried the carb spray seems like there is no leak. no change in idle. thanks for the suggestion.
