RESTO 1995 spi hood

I picked up a nice 1995 seadoo spi and only issue is that someone before me put an xp hood on it which is fine but they painted it black. looks terrible. question is can this be sodablasted off so I can repaint it purple. i have the ppg code for that yr purple and can get it mixed up. but need to get that old paint off first. Any help would be great. thanks

try maybe some orange based paint remover which should not harm the plastic.

someone posted this a few weeks ago, they used paint stripper and it came off and didn't harm the plastic.. was a yellow 95 xp800 hood painted purple

It was Permatex paint stripper from NAPA. I'm picking some up tonight as my 95 yellow hood was repainted yellow.
