1995 gtx twin 657 x engine
Was sitting for awhile like 2 years we got it out to get it going runs great on hose but took to lake and bogs down under any kind of load.

So i started going down the lists I've seen on these forums.
Rebuild carbs ✔
New fuel lines ✔
New battery ✔
New rectifier ✔ tested bad
New plugs ✔
Its finally wanting to get up and go will speeed up for like 10 swconds.on water plane out at like 25-30mph then it bogs down again idle around for a few seconds then it will do it again been three weeks whittle on it when i can anything at all you can point me in the right direction

I had a similar problem recently, mine was due to a poorly sealed fuel/ water separator. I would suggest running the Main fuel line directly into the carb inlet. Some suggest using the reserve line, but you have a better chance sucking crud up and fouling your internal filters.

Other than that I would try the choke trick when the engine starts to bog, if it comes back to life you probably have a loose hose clamp somewhere. My 95 GTX was surging due to a loose clamp on the return port of the carb, its always something little you forgot.
