1994 SPI quits suddenly

I have a 1994 SPI which I just put a new to me 587 into. Old one the fuel injection failed and cooked the motor. Now it’s premix with seadoo oil and 40:1.

While apart I replaced the grey lines with black and rebuilt carb. It fired right up, no choke necessary. Put in water and it would idle and let me give it about 10%throttle. If I idled long enough I could go WOT for about 2 second and it would cut. Almost like someone pulled the tether, but it was still secure. After 3 times of that I decided to stop to avoid damage and idled back to the launch. It spit and sputtered a bit, and seemed to run better when choked partially. This to me says lean. So I am wondering if something got clogged in the fuel pickup. Mine doesn’t read fuel level anymore so I wonder if that’s an issue?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. When it quits it just quits, no spitting or sputtering.

Here are the plugs, but that’s after idling back to launch about 4-5 minutes. I am also using BR8 vs the recommended BR7 because no one had those available and I have 8s for my quads.

Make sure you supply oil to the rotary valve, you can't just remove all the oil injection stuff on these.

Are you sure the oil pump failed? you would be one of only a couple people to ever have that happen to on a Seadoo.

Did you rebuild the carbs with brand new genuine mikuni parts including new needles and seats?

Still have the oil tank half full with oil lines to and from the case for the Rotary valve.
The old pump failed. When I pulled apart the drive gear had broken off. Not sure what caused it other than maybe being almost 30 years old. The motor was 100% original. Thousands of hours. My dad bought new.

It was a mikuni kit. New needles and seats.

I have seen the kill switch do that a few times. Typically fires right back up.

The weird part was it’s reproducible. Same result each time. So I cannot figure it out.

Check every ground, check every connection, sure sounds electrical to just "cut out."

You would be better off just using a temporary clear fuel line. The additional inline fuel filters have been known to cause fuel starvation issues.
