290996723 part number for 1994 GTX and 290996724 part number for 1995 GTX.

Looking for a new pump and found a new old stock 94 pump but cannot tell if this will work on my 95 657x. Any ideas??

Is it the same motor for 1995? I would say yes. Although mines a 717 and yours is a 657, if the guys on here say that it's the same pump, or at least same guts as mine, I've got one for free if you want it. Lmk

Anyone with info would be appreciated.... Switched to premix but would love to find a new oil pump..

Gary I talked to my Mikuni rep in the Chicago office today, Japan no longer has the tooling on line to make any more oil pumps used on BRP's watercraft so what's left in the pipeline new or used is it unfortunately.

Thanks for the info!!! If I can verify the 94 pump will work I can score a NOS one. Cannot find ANY info though on if it will work! I think the 94 oil pump rate is a little different from the 95 but I am not sure if that is due to gear size or the pump itself. Have not seen the pump in person either so not sure if it is the same or not

Those drive gears were the same (41 tooth) from the 94-95, but if I'm remembering it right something changed that prevented them from crossing over on the X motor. I dumped all the old 580 and 657 parts for cheap a few years ago to make space so I got nothing left to measure but I know the rv cover casting changed from 94-95 and that might have needed a longer/shorter pump shaft to accommodate the difference.

I'll ask around and see if anyone has both of those handy to see what the difference is.

MUCH appreciated! I hate being premix!

Nick got back to me and advised the pump will bolt up. BUT..... After more thought I am going to wait for the correct NOS to show it's rare head sometime in the future. I could not get my brain wrapped around why there would be a different part number if it would work. I keep going back to flow rates. When I look at the 95 service manual, it shows different flow rates for each model's pump. As Nick also agreed, there is a difference in fuel consumption so makes sense would need different outputs to get ratio correct. Looking at the 94 GTX, the engine is not an x motor. When I look up the specs, the 94 burned about a gallon an hour less than the 95 657x. Although the pump may fit, looks like it would cause me to run lean. Guess I will be staying premix!
