Evening All,

When attempting to set the 1993 XP 657 engine to TDC at the MAG piston, there appears to be a good bit of play at that position. Say about 30 degrees worth give or take. Should I be bringing the MAG piston up to TDC from a specific direction (CW/CCW) and stopping as soon as I hit TDC or is it the middle of that apparent play? Of is the play bad to begin with? Thanks.

When you set ignition or rotary timing you should turn the motor in the direction it spins during operation and bring the piston up to TDC. Don't bring it up, overshoot TDC and rotate it back to get to tdc again.
