Hey guys so I recently bought a 1992 seadoo xp supposed to be running. But ive fixed a lot that was wrong already. Exhaust was falling off and cooling lines were ran to wrong locations. So orginal motor was a 587 guy I bought it from put a new 787 in with new driveshaft and impeller. Problem I have is it idles great but boggs down when you hit the gas, if I dump gas in with the primer it will run great for about 5 seconds till it bogs down again. I have a carb rebuild coming. Question is do I need larger jets with the bigger motor

You can't run a 787 with carbs from a 580. Are you sure it is a 787 as that is not a bolt in engine swap?

Post some pictures, the 1992 XP should be a twin carb 587 engine. Once we know what you got we can help out.

OK so I have confirmed I have the 587. OK so I purchased a carb rebuild kit and put everything in new that came with it. I did a pop off test and was at 30 psi on both carbs. I did a compression test, both cylinders are at 130 psi. Carb have been completely cleaned and rebuilt. Jetski starts and idles and if I idle for awhile and hit the throttle it takes off like a banshee for about 5 seconds. Then bogs down and if it use the primer to squirt fuel into carbs every 5 seconds I can run up and down the river at full speed. The pump on the front carb is working as I have fuel going into front carb and coming out and going
