Hi. It is time to do the 10 hour maintenance on my new 2009 GTX. I am an engineer and a good mechanic, having worked on sports cars, boats, outboards, motorcycles, diesels, racing cars, etc for 35 years. The 10 hour stuff seemed simple, so I was planning to save $300 and do it myself, but then I saw a post that said that a dealer had to perform the 10 hour maintenance in order to satisfy the warranty. Is this true? (I'm at work and so I don't have access to my warranty at the moment.) Thanks.

NO thats false. I just did my 10 hr service myself. Change the oil, filter. Just check all the bolts and hose clamps for tightness. I asked my dealer if it would VOID the warranty and they said no it will be fine. Just save the receipt for the Oil Change Kit you buy. Thye wanted $250 for a job that toook me 30 minutes. All you need is sucker pump to suck the oil out of the dipstick tube.
