I have a 2007 gti. plug in the lanyard and have no beep or start. press the start button 5 times without the lanyard and nothing happens. A new starter sonlenoid was installed and still nothing. Could this be a faulty ignition post? anyone have the part #?

Yes, it could be. Do you have a Manual specific for your yr/dl? You can also click on
Seadoowarehouse to see the micrfiche on your ski.
Use a pencil eraser to clean your lanyard & post, it could have built up a film there,
and on fuses/holders, dielectric grease thoses. Use one leg of a jumper cables from
battery to engine, as neg cables corrode. Are guages lighting up?

Thanks Bills, I replaced the DESS post and put a new LCD dash on the machine. I put the key on and got a long beep and then four short beeps. Code 1513 and no crank or start. Put the learners key on and the dash showed the L key and the engine would crank but no start. I then put the other key on and then codes 1513 and 1656 came up just this on time. Removed the key and put back on and just code 1513. Engine still not cranking with regular key...

Any Ideas????

Still having problems here. The engine will crank with the learner key but will not start. I put the regular key in and no crank. Code P1513 is present and found a link that someone replaced the lcd gauges and had to have the pcm reprogrammed to the new dash cluster.

Is this true?

Dennis is correct. Anytime you replace the cluster on a 2007+ ski, you need to do what is called "marrying" the cluster to the ECU.

Furthermore, if you bought a brand new cluster, you need to get the software loaded into it before it can even be married to the ECU.

As you found out, the engine will not start unless you do this.
