you proberbly need a new wear ring at best !
also check the clearances on your impelor to ring(in manual)
and check impelor for damage ?
it could be other issues but these are the main ones that cause cavitation!
new wear ring is about £40 gbp and new impelor is about £250 gbp
all instructions for fitting and clearaces will be in manuals supplyed on premium subscription.
or just take it to the dealear and hell charge you about £10000000000000
also add your boat to your avatar !
03 speedster what?

Thanks for the info,my boat looks like one you have pictures of.It is a speedster le, 127horse(i think) 2 stroke..

Been where you are with my 2003 Sportster 4-TEC...
Actually got worse than what you are saying as when pulled a tube, ended up at 15MPH, and couldn't get to plane.
Tore it down and replaced wear ring, and the impeller (knicked, banged up in spots), smoothed down the stator vanes, and back in action.
Went from 42MHP to 56MPH and planes in a couple seconds.
As they said, hop up to premium and pull the manual you need and have at it -- it is a good do it yourself project.

Oh forgot ... you'll have two engines for your Speedster and will want to inspect both. Might end up being twice the DIY fun :( depending on their state.
