helping a friend fix up his 2001 GTI, i know it could use a carb rebuild, and still has the grey fuellines (no green sludge yet, replacing them at the end of the season), but when we take it out, there is a strong fuel smell if it idles for a while, it runs good at WOT, rough idle, and we have to usually choak it to start it..

cant find any fuel leaks or the source of the smell, should we be worried about this? it does not seem to be affecting the performance.

Yes! Fumes in Seadoo hulls have exploded and hurt people. We had a Rental go
Boom last year, here in Clearwater, Fla. We recommend a pre-ride check of opening
the seat, look = smell = feel for gasoline or exhaust leaks. A properly functioning
ski is a fun ski. DON'T GO AGAINST STUPIDITY. Fix it First!

we just spent 2hrs tryign to find the source of the smell to no avail, actually, we couldnt even get the smell to show itself tonight... :/

Feel down under the carb, under rotary cover. The small oil injection 3/32"id oil lines
fail after 3-4 years. Its just weed-eater fuel line. Pull Ft basket and snug all gas line hose clamps. Bills86e
