Hello, I’m new to the 2 stroke watercrafts and I had a question about the Xp fueling. I know it’s supposed to run 50:1 premix, but i was wondering if I could fill the oil tank up with the premix gas along with the gas tank? If i were to fill up the oil tank top wouldn’t it just run down with the other premix gas in the fuel tank?

No, filling the oil tank is not the same as premixing. The factory oil injection system is not connected to the fuel tank at all. It injects a variable amount of oil into the intake manifold after the carburetors that depends on throttle setting. At idle, it mixes at a rate of 100:1 or so, and at full throttle it’s closer to 40:1.

No, the rotary valve is gravity fed from that oil tank, you need to keep it full of oil at all times. It’s not recommended at all to premix on these skis. The oil injection system is very reliable, and premixing does absolutely nothing for you other than burn more expensive oil and add additional opportunities to mess something up. You are far more likely to mix your oil at the wrong ratio or fill the ski out of the wrong gas can than you are to have an oil pump fail...

Gotcha. The guy before me had been premixing it. So should i run out the current premix gas and then just start using premium (93) and keep the oil filled?

There’s no need for 93. The skis were designed to run on 87, so that’s what you should use. Before you stop premixing, look over all of the lines from the oil tank to the pump, and from the pump to the intake manifold. If there are any cracks/leaks, or hose ends out of place, then replace those lines first.

Alright. And won’t keeping the oil tank full while premixing make it run too rich?
You should oil the fuel charge one way or the other, not both. So either ensure the oil injection works and stop premixing (my preference), or, premix and maintain an oil tank to keep the rotary cavity full of oil, but block off the oil injection pump.
