It really depends on how long you let the pump/flush run with the engine off? I did something similar (but only for a few seconds) and everything was fine. I think as long as it was only for a few moments, you should be ok.
I am guessing that you will be fine. Just don't make a habit out of it. Did the engine do anything funny or sound funny? You are right that the carbon seal can be damaged by running out of the water, but I am guessing you are probably ok. The only way to know for sure would be to put in the...
I would just take a heat gun and remove the entire word and start over with a new Sea-doo logo. I did this on my boat and was very happy with it (although it was not the metal look you are seeking).
I have exact same boat as you. I did the winterizing myself the past two years and I did not pinch off any lines. Just pump until you see antifreeze come out. Of course, make sure you start the engine first before pumping the anti-freeze in. Once you've started pumping, turn the pump off...
Thank you for the explanation. Certainly make sense considering the plug is such a cheap part as you said. Plus, they really are not that hard to change. Better safe than sorry I guess.
Honest question. I see a lot of people that suggest changing the plugs every year. I have done it the last two years as well. But people go for years without changing their spark plugs in cars/trucks. Why is it more important with boats?
I think most big box store batteries are pretty similar (Wal-mart, Oreilly, Autozone, Advanced, etc.) I've had batteries from just about all of them and most are of pretty good quality if maintained.
Most are made by either Johnson Controls or East Penn.
