I took a Di apart that had over 200 hours, many were at full throttle. The pistons were in very good condition. It the engine is maintained; they will go a long way. Try removing the RAVE valves and looking at the piston skirts. That should tell you a lot.

I usually ride about once per week. I bring them inside in the off season where it is heated and charge them periodically.

I have been using Chrome Batteries for about 15 years. They cost around $55 including fast shipping. They last 4-5 years.

That was my conclusion! The issue is this a "NEW" balance shaft out of the box! I sent it back.

What happened to this balance shaft? I have never seen one machined like this. Any thoughts?

There are a number of good pistons available. WSM platinum are OK. Wossner are a work of art. Pro-X are good. I would stay away from SBT. Just my four cents (inflation) Are you going to bore the cylinders? If so, how much?
