Hello
Ik have a merc 240 efi m2
I had a blown Out cylinder
There bored the block 0.20” bigger all 6
And i ordered new piston with new rings 0.20” over
Now i have a ring gap of 0.8mm on each cylinder
Seems a little big
Did they make them al to big ?

Thanks in advance
Willie

Details matter here.
I presume you mean "they bored .020 oversize."
My service book says end gap should be .45mm to .64mm.
0.8mm seems a little too much. Book also says check other rings of the set. You have 12 new rings, right?
Are you using a piston to make sure the ring in question is seated square in the bore?
Have your cylinders been honed or only bored? They must be honed.

Did the shop make them too big? That is determined by the difference in diameter of the bore - diameter of piston (mid-skirt). The spec is in the service book.
