I need to go to more than 1mm over on a 951. I have a choice of Wossner vs Wiseco. I hear both are good. Thoughts?
Also, what should be the clearance, stock per the manual is .0035. Too tight for forged?

GO HEAD with the BIG DOG !! :D
My engine builder recommends Wosner. I say whatever fits in there at good price works for me. LOL The piston should come with clearance recommendations. WSM pistons recommended (.0045") on the engines I've done. It's all about materials of construction. People don't want to let the skis warm up and that isn't good. Good Luck !! Pictures are always cool !!

I received the Wossner pistons and wow are they pretty!!!
Wossner states synthetic oil should not be used during break-in as this will cause the rings to not seat properly. Any thoughts?
I ran a 951 on mineral oil for years with no problems.

I'd run a tank of mineral oil then put the oil of your choice in there. I run the Lucas synthetic blend in all my skis.

Should I just pour synthetic in the tank afterwards or do I need to clean the tank and change the filter. I ask because when I got the first SD, it had synthetic in it when it was new. I added SD mineral oil after that with no issues. Also, a guy I used to ride with used SD four stroke oil on his Di for a summer with no issues!

I run Lucas Synthetic Blend even on newly rebuilt engines. It meets all the requirements.

If I'd run a mineral oil I run one from the same product line. I'd stay with Lucas cuz I run Lucas. Going way back different oil products caused problems when mixed. That has since been resolved.

Agreed. I cant find Lucas two stroke mineral oil. It is all synthetic or semi-synthetic. Thank you for your input!

Advance Auto Parts, O'Reilly's Auto, Academy all sell it It used to be $26 a gallon for Semi-Synthetic and $30 for full synthetic.

I like to have a little extra oil going "to" the new engine so I fatten up the oil pump feed on the injected skis and add 80:1 premix on carb skis. Good Luck !!
