Rebuilding basket case motor ,can I put back same motor with out alignment, also are the sims under mounts or top,I did not take motor out and there was bolts mising in this project

If you'd taken the motor out yourself and marked the mounts/brackets and counted the shims under each I'd say yes.

If not, use the tool. Not worth the risk of damage.
SBT do them, and also do rental/return pricing.

You can still have movement in the bolt holes of the mounts. So you should use and alignment tool to do it right

Shims typically go between mount plate and rubber mounts. Can't say for certain about yours, but that'd be my guess...

Everyone above is right.

1) The shims normally go between the mount, and cradle.

2) You can't get it straight enough, since you didn't take it apart, and even know if it was OK to begin with. Things bend, shift and wear. SO... you can't assume it was OK when it came apart.

If you manage to get it close, and it doesn't just bind... then it can still be out enough that the shaft will eat itself. (wear the splines, or just get bent)

You've been warned.
