1997-2004 OEM Seadoo cover for XP

I have had this cover for years and it has spent most of its life in a box. If I decide to sell it about how much is it worth? Thank you!

    Crank ring bent

I just got a 951crank rebuilt and the ring is bent. Has this happened to anyone else? What needs to be done to correct this? Thanks!

    Pump Seal

I just bought this pump and noticed the damage to the seal. Is this ok? There is no evidence of a prior leak. If the seal needs to be replaced, As far as I know, I would have to have someone press out the bearings and seal to replace them. What a pain.

    951 Crank Bearings

I am getting a Seadoo crank rebuilt on a mostly stock 951 and have a question. What bearings should I use? WSM are from China and the last few cranks from them had issues. What other options are there? Japanese, German? Are WSM bearings worth using? Thanks!

    XP Water Box Removal

I have a 2000 XP and I need to replace the water box straps as they are broken. It is almost out but REALLY does not want to come all of the way out. Other than dynamite, any suggestions?

Leak Down Test Leak at Intake Manifolds

951 Carb engine leaks at the intake manifolds when doing a leak down test. Surfaces are clean, torque is correct. Is it ok to use sealer? I would rather not, but I have tried two sets of manifolds with the same result.

    951 Cylinder Decking

I have two 951 carb engines I am assembling, and both are about .090 squish with a head gasket installed and no base gasket. I think the spec is .067 to .091. One has a WSM crank, the other is SeaDoo. Pistons in both engines are WSM. Based on what I know, I need to deck them about .030. This...

XP DI Needs a Timing Light?

When replacing the MPEM, the manual states "In this operation, the ignition timing light and B.U.D.S. are used to synchronize the MPEM TDC reference with the engine crankshaft." You really have to use a timing light? I haven't had one in my hands since the 70's! I didn't know they made them anymore!

951 DI getting a key made

I picked up another Di (I know, I am a glutton for punishment) and it doesn't have a key. The key dude tried a few times and said he couldn't do it. He said he got access to the MPEM and could see if there were any issues but before he could make the key, the MPEM stopped communicating with the...

    15a Fuse Blew

I have a 99 XP and when you put the key in, the bilge does not run. The pump checks out. I disconnected it from the wiring harness. I think the bilge grounds through the MPEM, so I was thinking it was on its way out. I figured I will wait and see if the MPEM has any additional problems. Any...

    Squish Test

I installed an ADA billet head on a Sea Doo 951. I checked the squish, and it is F .057 R .053. Is that ok? It seems a little tight. Also is a .04 difference ok? Thanks!

Looking for an XP Di in good condition with smoked engine.

I am looking for a XP Di in good condition but with a bad engine. I would like it for a winter project knowing that I may need to take an anger management class during the project. Anyone that can work on a Di for any length of time and not get angry makes Master Po look like Alec Baldwin.

    Miller Billet Head 951

I have 2 951 engines. I am thinking about a billet head for one of them. I have one with 49cc domes for a bore of 89.5mm. SD spec for domes is 51.8 +/- .6. For a slightly modified engine is 49cc too small? I want to run 91 octane. Per ADA, the 50cc dome the compression is 155 and for 48cc its...

    MPEM wire 2001 XP

I am looking at a 2001 XP and noticed this white wire that looks like a jumper wire. What is the purpose of this white wire?

    RAVE valve clearance

I am putting this 951 together and have a question. I am almost certain that the RAVE valves have been shaved (about .020) but I don't want any issues. Is there enough clearance if I can get a .015 feeler gauge between the piston and the RAVE valve? What happens if too much has been removed? Thanks!

    Leak down test fail

I am doing a leak down test on a 951 and it leaks at the cylinder head studs. Any idea what could cause this?

    951 Carb engine cases mismatched

Can 951 carb engine cases be mismatched? One of mine has a large hole in the bottom case and isn't repairable. Can I get a used lower case with my good top case? I think SD says no. Thoughts?

    Forged piston/cylinder wall clearance 951

I need to go to more than 1mm over on a 951. I have a choice of Wossner vs Wiseco. I hear both are good. Thoughts? Also, what should be the clearance, stock per the manual is .0035. Too tight for forged?

One piston has 216 hours the other 4

The piston on the left came out of a 951 Di with 216 hours on it. The one on the left has 4 hours on it. It looks like water got in it. Any ideas?
