I Recently Purchased A 91 Bombadier On Ebay, Add Said It Had A Bad Starter, When I Went To Work On It I Found It Had A Yellow 587 And The Starter Was Missing, I Began Searching On Ebay For A Starter And I Found Alot Of Starters For 580's, So My Question Is Will The 580 Starter Work On The 587, And What Is The Differance Between A White 587 And A Yellow 587

The 580 should work fine on the 587. Email the seller and ask specifically. As for the difference between white and yellow:

The white 587 is for:
1992 XP
1993 SPX
1992-1996 SP
1992-1996 SPI
1992-1996 GTS
1992-1993 GTX

The yellow 587 is for:
1988-1991 SP
1990-1991 GT
1991 SPI
1991 XP

the differance between a 580 and a 587 are the same they call the engine either 580 or 587 but there cc's are both 580cc.and the white 580/587 engine has a different cooling system then the yellow 580/587 engine.

will the white engine work in the place of a yellow engine?
