Newbie to Seadoo here. I just upgraded my '94 Bayliner Jazz jet boat to an immaculate '04 Sportster 4 tech 155 H.P.. I took my Sportster out on the lake today and I love it. I did notice the newer models, like mine, don't have driver mirrors. I see from pictures that the older 2 stroke Sportster LE's have mirrors. Why would they get rid of a seemingly important option like that? Just wondering? Also, does anyone know of an aftermarket mirror set that would look good on my '04? Thanks for any help and glad to be in the Seadoo family!!!

Because mirrors are useless on a boat. Traffic can be coming from any direction, and since the boat can be sitting at different attitudes, the mirrors are never looking at what you want.

But... if you want mirrors, you can get them at any boat shop, and bolt them on.

My jet ski has mirrors on it and I never really totaly understood that. Maybe for when your pulling someone on a tube, but then again thats what the "spotter" passenger is for. They never are looking at much other than the water, and they are fairly small and useless. I feel the same way on a jet ski as I do a four wheeler, it's really just easier to turn around and look behind you.

I just realized this post should have been in the "Boat" section instead of the "PWC". Sorry, my bad. I know when I'm pulling a skier or tuber I should have someone in the reverse seat for saftey reasons, but I would still like to see them in a mirror (if I can) so as not to keep cranking my neck around every 5 seconds. It just seems like the mirrors were a decent enough idea to keep on the newer models. Even if they were a little tough to use.

I agree, i would think they should keep it as an addable option to a boat. If people didn't want them they could opt out, but still have the chance to later add them. Then people could also opt for them when purchising a boat.
