whats wrong with my rxp?

i have a 2005 seadoo rxp and so i though the battery went dead so i went home and got this spair battery i had in my basement i put it in and eveything workked but the trim. so the next weekend i was going out to ride with some of my friends so before i left my house i checked to see if it was still charged and it was everything worked, so after i droped it in the water i go to get on it and put the key in and nothing worked as if the battery was dead? has anyone had this problem before and if so can you tell me what i have to do to fix it?
