Hi - New to the forums here. I just got a "new" 2008 RXT 215 from the dealership this past weekend with ZERO hours on it. It was actually a gift of sorts.
I have never owned a boat (myself; family had one as a child) or jet ski and I would like to take it out this coming Friday for the first time on what is supposed to be the nicest day so far this year around here.
My questions(s).
1) What do I need to know about breaking the ski in? I understand the manual says 10 hours with limited to no full throttle.
2) Is there any maintenance items I can do myself or check myself. ie. Oil, coolant, etc.
3) What do I need to check before taking it out? (Drain plugs in, got that)
4) How long will the 15.9 gallons of gas last me/get me on average?
5) Has anyone installed the telescoping wake tower on their RXP/RXT? What do you think? Worth it? Do it yourself or have dealer install?
6) If there is anything I need to get for the ski before I go out (Fire ext., tow rope, flare, whistle, etc.)
7) Any good advice and welcomes appreciated.
