Im atempting ro repair a 97 gtx. The Head Pipe Assy had a hole at one of the plugs. So I removed so it could be replace. The question is, when removed there is alot of water in the lower exhaust pipe and in the muffler is the normal or do i have another problem...

Normal

No, it's normal. You'll notice where the water line comes across the head of the engine, going into your exhaust system, well, this is where the water crosses and is pre-heated before looping upwards into the engine. Just to the bottom side, you'll notice a small elbow (which is calibrated) that allows a certain amount of water to be pre-mixed with the exhaust gases to make your tuned pipe work correctly. You've also got a water regulator on the back at the resonator, it looks like a RAVE valve. It too injects water to the system. If you've got an over abundant amount in there, then you could have a bad gasket at the exhaust manifold, where it's sealed between the water inlet side and the exhaust outlet. Like popping a head gasket, you can breach that 1/4" between the two ports and drop water into it..........this would be bad news, cause it could also mean it's going into the engine.
