So I took my new to me 98 xp out to the lake today and every minute or so it beeped. I have been doing some reading and what I have read is that it means low fuel. The fuel is full but the fuel gauge itself does not work. I am guessing this is why the beeping is happening. Is it possible to get rid of the wiring so the beeping will go away? or any other resolutions?
Thanks for the help

If you don't care to have a working fuel gauge just unplug the wires coming out of the fuel baffle. I believe it's the ones that are pink or red, anyway its the only pair from the baffle.

It could also be a failed temperature sensor, unplug the sensor on the head of the engine and see if the beeping stops. Also be sure to check the oil level.
