I think I've found the answer, but wanted to verify before moving forward.

I've got a TrimFix for my 2001XP. I read that the purple/white wire in the 6 wire connector is 12v power for the gauge.

Do I just leave the purple/white wire alone and connect the others as directed?

P/W is power from the mpem when the system is on. Think of it as the acc posiontion in your car.
Power is applied to that anytime the mpem is activated which allows the vts to turn on as well. Otherwise you could trim with the power off by accident.
I'm not sure how the trimfix is designed. Do you have the diagram ?
