04 RXP stage-3 wheel 42s 4" intake, wedge, solas 15-20 holes filled bucket trimed, @ 8000----72 mph on gps
a lot of money for 2.8 MPH
not even close to call it worth it,
wished id never tuched it.:banghead:

Well we live and learn. I hate to say it but I did ask you in January why you would want to spend all that money to get an extra 2 mph...

I can't answer your question but have to ask, unless you are doing competitive racing, why do you want to spend that money to squeeze out 1-2 mph? what speed are you getting now?

I get 63 on the speedo (never measureed what it really is with a gps) on my stock GSX, I can't imagine 2mph making a difference and I would not want to go 70mph, I'm hanging on for dear life at 63

Trapper, maybe this will cheer you up a bit

Something is wrong, trapper.

You got a smaller ski..a better/bigger ic...bigger injectors and a taller prop. I know...no consolation.

And you're fibbin about regretting you ever touched it.

I wish you'd post up some pics or links to pics of what you've done to your ski.

i forgot the IC, spent 525 used on that and that suckers big
I dont get it i have everything in my ski that the green hulk site
has and they are getting high 70s im going to throw a boost
gage on to see were im at, if i turned 8100--8150 i wouldnt get
in the upper 70s,
also the thing that burns me the most is false advertisement--marketing
no matter what you put on you gain 1 to 2 MPH
Im trying to sell my house and when that goes im finishing my sea plane,
skis are fun but flying is funnnnner

Lol busted, isnt that the game though? $1000 per 1 mph or so?

A $1000.00 per 1 mph is actually pretty sweet deal ... I know theres some guys on the site who race cars ... talk to them about what their paying per mph ... might make yah feel better.

yeah yeah yeah....flying a sea plane would be funner and all....to each his own.

Is that IC clean? have you checked boost yet? And honestly...this whole false advertizing thing is getting old. You have the parts...or have been told you have the parts...in good working order. Why you aren't able to achieve what's been abuntantly documented by a miriad of others is very curious...at least to me. It should also be to you...I would think.

My ski is heavier...only has the S3 wheel and a better air intake along with all the freebies and some minor handling mods....and I'm running better than you are....for a lot less money than you spent.

All skis are different...but they aren't that different.

There's gonna be a pwc only charity poker run at SML in a coupla weeks. Wanna come? We'll have a few from NY attending...if I can get thier info in time...would you like to talk with them in person?...maybe they could help where I and others haven't.

let me no were, distence is everything,
what does not add up is im turning good RPMs 8000
the props the prop 15-20R
the IC must work one side is not wicked hot but hot
and the out let side is cool a huge difference between the to,
boost would be an issue if i was not getting RPMs,
faulty $400.00 garmin GPS???

You could actually use another 100-150 rpm especially since it ain't hot yet...maybe take out a lil on that prop. Did you check the blades before installing? Even from the factory...I've had blades be as much as 2mm off.

Smith Mountain Lake, Va.

I'll see if I can't find out who from NY is coming.

one last thing....where do you have your vts set when you make your runs?

Okay...first things first..

Nice tractor..wanna sell it cheap?

I'd like a pic of the sc inlet...I wanna see the blades.

What kinda hose are you running for an air intake?

What do you have your rectifier cut/let into?

Are you running an air filter of somekind?

.....................I'm gonna hit the lake here in a few. Will be back tonight.

thats my 1959 international 240 utility, runs as good as she looks,
the charger has 10 vanes,
air intake 4" vacuum hose,
rectifier is cut into factory air duct for cooling as factory does,
running a K&N filter,

Okay...here's three things that may be causing half of your probs...

1- That 4" vacuum hose may be collapsing....has happened before. Might wanna consider kana-flex WD620 I believe, strong...smooth bore.

2- That piece of the orriginal intake that your rectifier is mounted in/on....what is the cross sectional dimension?...my bet...less than the area of a 4" circle...thereby restricting your intake back down to stock.

3- A filter causes restriction...even one of stainless steal with no cotton/paper...(which is what your's looks like it has) if that's the case...major restriction.

Tie that rectifier to something up around your tank and don't worry about it anymore.

Re-think your air intake. It's very important to feed that sc as much air as possible...as fast as it can get it. Check this link....play with the pipe demo model.

trapperjack1,

You still around? I wanna hear how your machine runs since you've now opened up that air intake.

ha red2blue havent done that yet gave up my ski to my girl friends daughter that
just got married so they took it on there honey moon and had a blast,
i just picked it up today,
the last time i had it apart to change the prop i forgot to put the wedge back in
and i hit 72, I put it back in and 70 was it--took it back out and got my 72 back,
heard they worked better on the three seaters then the 2s,
if i get 100 to 150 RPMs more out of here i dont think its going to
gain me much but if i could re flash and hit 8600 we would be talking,

ill un cork that filter and let you no, other then that the thing rips:D

Do you have the vts set at 1 above neutral when doing speed runs?

Trapper .. not insulting your intelligence here ... afte readingr several of you posts .. you are defnately more educateded on these motors than I am ... have you got an ecu in this beast though? that's alot of fuel system an and air to be handling a stock fuel table again sorry if this post is useless to you ... just wondering if you need to modify your fuel map. I'm not really heavy duty on modifying skis ... but with bikes, I am and everytime i make a change in the intake I always have to adjust the fuel map ... just tossin it out there bro ... again sorry if this post comes across as insluting ... didnt mean it like that at all

this thing goes the fastes all the way up,
theres no dought it screws just not as fast top end as i expected,
unless im missing something the (math) prop times RPMs = speed im almost
toped out, I could see how 6,000 more Rs would get me into high 70s

You're kidding?

Everyone I know set at 1 above...low fuel and superman.

Have you checked to see if your vts is operating at full range?

ya no problem with it working normal
everything works fine except that fuel pump ground
but other then that--hang on,
ill be on the water at 2 and i un hooked the intake and took
the K&N off ill tape it in the opening

well here we go again,
apearently my ski took in water into the charger along with
oil, i dont have a catch can i put the line in the intake line like the factory did
now i have the sputter runs like shit--no top end,
besides the multiple oil changes and what oil off the shelf can i use
what else do i have to do---is the charger all right with the crap that
went through it or is it time to yank that apart,

also all three cylinders compression 145

WTF are you doing to that poor machine?!

You're supposed to be doing nice easy speed runs...not 360 degree spins and submarining into every other wave!

:D

Valvoline 10w40 4stroke motorcycle oil $3-$5 at advance auto.

Sheesh

C'mon man...how much oil are we talking about? have you checked the oil in the motor?...milky chocolate looking?

You're killing me here.

crem not real milky but enough to take out the IC--flush
take out the SC--flush
take off the intake--flush
take out the 4" intake--flush
poped one new plug in and on the trailer she seems to run mint.
NO im not a diver or a 360 kind a guy
the friend of mine that took it out with his 9 year old
told me about the wave that came over the hood
well i have that direct air intake at your crotch that took in
the wave,

i ran it the last hour with no trouble and today i go,,, or tryed
to go and it didnt want to go
I should go back to sleeping alot--Less stress full

Cool deal..was wondering about your IC.

Okay...it's all set. Only you take it out....next time. ;)

You haven't seen enough horror stories on this site and others regarding loaned out skis and the shape they're returned?
