Was idling in shallow water and sucked up some sand. Heard it go through pump. Shut down motor instantly. Looked at it on the trailer. Wear ring has very small scratches on it but is definitely not gouged. Impeller looks ok. Anything else I should check for before I cause further damage??

if it was just sugar sized sand- I wouldn't worry too much. the pumps will pass sand and small debris usually without issue. it's the 3/4"+ granite stones that'll get ya! maybe just flush the system out in the lake for a few moments....

Best flush on hose on trailer as your are back flushing the cooling system and should get most of the sand out
Just be careful next time out that you don’t get an exhaust over heat
You can feel how hot the exhaust hose between aluminum muffler and resonator is as it is cooled by sea / lake water
The resonator are prone to melting causing ski to sink
