I bought two non working seadoo sp jet skis. I succeeded in getting one working. I had to pull an engine from a third not working to finish the other I have it on the ground but I am concerned. I tipped it upside down to remove the mounting plate and noticed oil oozing from both spark plug holes. Its a small amount but seems if I turn it over it oozes more. Is this the tell tale sign of a big engine issue?

its the RV seals leaking ...its fine it wll last a long time .... oil will leak into there after they sit for a long time...

If your sure, I will put the engine into the new hull and start it. Any way to know if there is not visible engine damage before the re-installation?

just by looking at the block for cracks and i would service the oil injection system becasue of its age.... by the way have you checked the compression on the engine

I haven't yet the starter is dead and I am waiting on a new one to do that. there are no cracks. I detailed it and found nothing. there are a couple of small rust spots visable from the manifold on a piston but the rings look in tact.

If this engine isnt any good can I put a much larger engine in? will the impeller shaft still be the right length? what engine would be the best choice?

well....you can pretty much put any engine in that you want you just have to replce the electronics that go with the engine...if you want you can put a 951 in it and have the baddest ski around ...talk about a 70 mph ski thats the one and it will jump 3 feet out of the water on take off too

depends.......i would buy a ski that has some hull damage to it and swap everything....or buy a used motor from a member on here and then see if anyone has a mpem for it on here it would be a wicked ski and will be sure to rip your arms off

Okay folks, I have another question for you. since the carb and exhaust are off I was wondering if I can use the open holes into the crank case to flush it with oil and put new oil in. If so is it the standard jet ski oil? how much should I put back in?
