Starts, doesn't start, starts!!!?

#1- Seadoo Si 1990 587 Yellow

Problem- Starts on trailer, doesn't start in the water, when it does it run perfectly but if I shut it off and try and restart it it does not start. Put it back on the trailer and take it home, it starts.

I have replaced the needle and seat and it hasn't fixed the issue.

It believe it is a carb problem as everything else is in order, any suggestions on where to look next?

The first thing to do is get a compression reading, this will give us an idea of the general condition of the engine.
