Would love some input. Looking at Speedster 150's. Two available options at the moment:

An 08 215 hp with 30 hours. In addition to the cover and trailer it would come with a SeaDoo warranty until May 2015. Cost with shipping is $12,500.

Alternatively, an 2009 Speedster 150 with the 255 hp engine. 25 hours. Comes with cover, trailer and a few other items (tubes, ropes, etc). No warranty. $14,200.

Obviously a warranty is a lot of peace of mind. I know that the 09 supercharger was said to be more stable than the 08. Really interested to hear from others who may have driven the 215 and the 255. Is it worth it to spend another $1,700 to go from an 08 215hp to an 09 255hp OR is the warranty such a huge incentive that the 08 with the 215 is more attractive?

Thoughts???

I don't have any direct experience with either of these, but engine replacement can be very expensive. Some of the four-stroke engines were known for dropping valves, and it gets ugly quickly when/if it happens.

That said, I prefer the additional HP and you'll want a compression check and water trial hopefully.
