Do you mean the display completely or just the speedometer value? The older models had a wheel spinning on the back (like for my 2003) but really, I never actually asked myself the question on newer models. Somehow I think it was related to the integrated GPS.
There is one thing you can verify: check if your clock displays the correct time (you have to set the hourly differential from Greenwich mean time manually if the dealer didn’t do it for you when you purchased it). if the time is OK, then your GPS is OK.
Maybe someone will come with a more definite answer.
