Speed sensor pipe sealant

I just got a new sensor and the diagram states that I need to put pipe sealant on the threads. What would work? Other than the very expensive Loctite sealant that it says to use.

You could use the correct sealant or even Teflon tape will work if you want. Just be sure to keep the tape on the threads, and roll it in the direction it tightens, so it wont come off when you install it.
